New Brunswick, Grande-Digue
CU69.6Canada
This eelgrass monitoring site is located in Grande-Digue just south of the Caissie Cape wharf in Shediac Bay, a shallow embayment connected to the Northumberland Strait on the eastern coast of New Brunswick. Shediac Bay is characterized by shallow waters, fine sand and mud substrates, and extensive eelgrass beds. The bay’s shallow bathymetry and weak tidal exchange contribute to warm summer water temperatures. This site has been sampled by the Shediac Bay Watershed Association since 2019.
