The Nantucket 1 (Field Station) SeagrassNet site is within a shallow sandy protected harbor accessible from the cobble beach on foot and with snorkeling. There is recreational scalloping activity in the fall. The harbor has a lot of boating activity but this areas is rather shallow and too near the shore for much boating activity. Transects A and B are easily accessible during low tides and have patchy coverage. Transect C is a deeper area with denser coverage. Species: Zostera marina. Monitoring began in 2021 following MarineGeo protocols and switch to SeagrassNet in 2024.
