New Hampshire, Great Bay
NH9.2United States of America
Established in 2007, the Great Bay SeagrassNet site stretches across the western side of the Great Bay, with nearly 1.25mi separating Transect A from Transect C. While Transects B and C are located within subtidal eelgrass beds, Transect A is intertidal and exposed during most low tides. Prior to 2020, sampling occurred 3-4 times per year. Sampling is now done once during the summer. Eelgrass density and biomass at all transects are multiple times less than those found in Portsmouth Harbor at the Fort Foster SeagrassNet site (NH9.3).
